About New Remote
NEW REMOTE is an independent, international art collective with a core group of artists from Canada, the Netherlands and Serbia. NEW REMOTE has a dynamic structure with continuously changing participants for each project. In its formative stages, NEW REMOTE was envisioned as a series of collaborative time-based works involving audio, installation, performance and video. The basic structure of the projects revolves around the concept of using technology to facilitate creative collaborations and long distance communication. NEW REMOTE organizes global projects and the social and political contexts of each location become integral and inevitable elements of each project.
While new forms of communication are constantly developing, NEW REMOTE enters into this space as travelers or nomads building stories, which will talk about our time. Using the ideas of our zeitgeist and focusing specifically on the issue of communication, New Remote will roam through this space in our basic shelters, spinning stories and act as a broadcast point.
NEW REMOTE organizes global projects and the social and political contexts of each location become integral and inevitable elements. These projects will be physically accessible in the participating locations, and throughout the world via internet.
Currently New Remote consists of: Walter Willems, Camilla Singh, Sherri Hay, Branislav Nikolic, Milos Jankovic.
